I started painting about a year ago while recovering from brain surgery. It was a creative outlet that didn't have to be perfect. Since then, I haven't been able to stop.
I usually paint with oils (with the starter kit my grandpa gave me years ago that has slowly grown by my own purchases) but also play around with acrylic. I am, by no means, the most technical by the book artist. I love hearing peoples stories, putting my earphones in with a podcast, and painting away until it feels finished. Which, let's be honest, doesn't fully ever happen...
But that's what makes it. The finishing touch of framing the piece, hanging it on a wall, letting it tell a story to those who look, and a constant reminder of something special. That's the finishing touch.
